Position Overview:
The Fleet Mechanic is a member of Reinhart’s Distribution Team and is primarily responsible for safely maintaining and up keeping of the company tractors and trailers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for all repairs and complete maintenance on tractors and trailers as well as complete necessary paperwork regarding said repairs and maintenance. This includes possessing the skills to perform the functions listed below while continuing to structure and develop the department.

  • Diagnose, rebuild and repair equipment.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Self motivated individual with great initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete the job in a timely manner.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60lbs, occasionally lifting up to 100lbs.
  • Highly organized, detail orientated and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to the facility manager/supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturer’s service specifications.
  • Maintains appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of all equipment and facilities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School degree or GED Required
  • 2+ years of previous experience as a diesel mechanic
  • General knowledge of refrigeration repairs; 608 and 609 certified preferred
  • General knowledge of engine repairs, diagnostics, and trailer repairs
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR
  • CDL preferred.
